‘Sonata in C Major’ (2016) (1’24”) Originally written by Bach, for flute and piano, this is a well established piece within the flute repertoire. It is transcribed and arranged here for four strings. The first movement begins with a slow section, marked ‘Andante’. The melody is shared between Violin I & II, with the remaining parts providing harmonic support. The tempo changes to a faster, dance-like, section with the rhythmic motif played again by the top two parts.
